Samsung Gear S2 will become Compatible with iOS devices later in January 2016
As almost all the Android Wear Samrt Watches work with iOS devices and it is the need of era that you smart watch should have capability to pair with any of recognized smart phone. Samsung's Tizen-based Galaxy Gear S2 is in the working to bring iOS support in it. And when you come to know that development is being done, you are bound to appreciate Samsung's marketing tricks.
Not true - compatibility is coming in mid-January, Samsung has told Pocket-lint, and it would most likely be implemented through a dedicated app that you'll be able to install off the App Store.
Powered by the company's in-house Tizen operating system, Gear S2 in its current form can only pair with Android phones made by Samsung and other manufacturers. The change in operating system support is an overt play for Apple device users left unimpressed with Apple Watch.
Gear S2 hit the shelves last August with an entirely new platform that combines the round-face aesthetics of Motorola's Moto 360 with rotating bezel controls reminiscent of Apple Watch's Digital Crown.
As with most smartwatches on the market, Samsung Gear S2 features a bunch of fitness tracking hardware and apps like a heart rate monitor and dynamic alerts, as well as a selection of other features like "Samsung Pay" which is direct competitor of Apple Pay.
It remains to be seen how far Samsung intends to go in integrating its proprietary "S" software suite on iOS, though the company is likely keen on encroaching deep into Apple territory.
At an event in CES 2016 on January 6, Samsung has also revealed "Rose Gold" and "Platinum" color options for the "Gear S2 Classic".
Almost all the Android Wear watches have been somehow compatible with iPhones since the end of August 2015. However, the Gear S2 runs on Tizen and not Google's wearable platform, so it wasn't an option for iPhone users until now.
