Nexus 9 release date tipped for this Wednesday alongside $399 price tag
Google and
HTC could be releasing the next-in-line
Nexus tablet as soon as
Wednesday, if new rumours are to be believed.
Insider sources, coming courtesy of Bright Side of News, reckon the highly anticipated
Nexus 9 release date will be held on October 15.?Our sources are confirming that the
HTC Nexus 9, which we had originally reported thanks to Nvidia?s own legal documents, will indeed be landing this month,? reads the BSON report.
The chatterbox tipsters also hinted that the device would be retailing at
$399, which translates to just south of
£250.
This is quite the leap upwards from the
Nexus 7 tablet, which currently marks up at £175 in the UK.
Nexus 9 specs have also been given an early debut, with the upcoming slate expected to tout
Nvidia?s fresh-faced Tegra K1 system-on-a-chip, likely in a 64-bit variant, as well as LTE connectivity.
The device is also promised to ship with a
2048 x 1440 pixel, 8.9-in display, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB or 32GB storage options.
A
3200mAh Li-Ion battery, a 13-megapixel rear-facing snapper, and Android L are also tipped to be on the cards for the Google-stamped tablet.
While we?re expecting a launch in two days? time, the sources say
the device won?t actually go on sale until November 3.
Just last week, we saw leaks of the
Nexus 9 out of China that squashed rumours of an aluminium body, with the device instead sporting a textured rear like the
Nexus 7.
It?s long been known that
HTC was Google?s partner of choice for the new
Nexus tablet, with the Taiwanese firm allegedly sending over engineers to Mountain View HQ to help build the device.
