Nexus 6 render leaked ahead of launch

Google and Motorola?s upcoming smartphone, the Nexus 6, has just been given another early debut courtesy of a familiar Twitter-based tipster.

Nexus 6 render

We?ve already seen several renders of the highly anticipated handset, and this latest mock-up seems to corroborate previously leaked design choices.

For starters, the screen is huge ? the Nexus 6 is rumoured to tout a 5.9-in screen, and the sized-up handset pictured seems to gel with this info.

It?s also expected to sport a very similar shape to the Moto X ? largely a result of Motorola?s design input ? which, again, checks out with this image.

Prolific leaker Evan Blass, a.k.a Evleaks, posted the image with a note: ?What a depressing few days. I remember 1 thing that used to make me feel better, tho.?

He also uploaded the image without his usual ?@evleaks? watermark, writing ?no mark in deference to Nexus.?

The device appears to be running Android L, Google?s fast-approaching mobile OS upgrade expected to launch later this month.

The ?L?-tagged software proffers Google?s material design style, which seeks a flatter, simpler aesthetic.

We?re still not sure what ?L? actually stands for, with the most likely moniker candidates being Lollipop or Licorice.

The iPhone 6 rivalling Nexus 6 is expected to launch alongside Android L sometime in October, replacing the Nexus 5 as Google?s flagship smartphone.

Whispered specs include a Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.65GHz, a 2560 x 1440 resolution, and a sizeable 3200mAh li-ion battery. If accurate, this specs sheet would see the handset go head-to-head with the similarly endowed Galaxy Note 4.
